Description:
Procurement Plan for Combined Feasibility and Feed Study for Revamp of Cdu 04/05 Desalters (Unit - 40/80) at Maa Refinery. Background Crude Distillation Units (Unit#40 (Cdu-4) & Unit #80 (Cdu-5)) in Knpc-Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery are Experiencing Repeated Occurrence of Process Related Problems Such as Corrosion in Top Section of Crude Tower and Top Pump around Heat Exchangers Fouling. Etc. Which have Considerable Cost and Profit Loss Impacts. These have been Attributed to Operating Both the Cdu Unites at about 20% More than Their Design Capacity with Certain Limitation. The Root Cuase of Corrosion in the Overhead System is Attributed to the Acidic Corrosion Which is Caused by Higher Salt Carry over from Desalters along with Crude. As Compared to Design. It is to be Noted that Salt Content is Desalted Crude at Higher Capacity Operation is about 1 Ptb against the Design Case of 0.46 Ptb. Scope of Work The Scope of the Project is to Revamp/Modify the Desalters and Associated Water. Injection/ Circulation System Along with the Chemical Injection Facilities in Both Cdus (Cdu-4&5) to Overcom the Problems Encountered While Operating the Units at Higher Capacity.
