- The Rendsburg train station plays an important role as a traffic junction in Schleswig-Holstein and is of great importance for regional and national rail traffic. The reception building (EC) can be found on the Hamburg-Flensburg railway line, one of the most important north-south connectionsin Schleswig-Holstein. Around 4,301 beginners are counted every day.
The reception building was built in 1872 and impresses with its historical appearance. It is divided into three parts of the building, the multi-storey head building, the access area to the person leadership(PU) and the subsequent low building. Due to its historical value, the building is under monument protection, which places high monument preservation requirements for the renovation. A demolition or partial demolition The reception building is not possible, this was rejected by the monument protection officeand legally checked by the DB.
The EC acted as a station hall for travelers and housed service and sales areas as well as gastronomic facilities. The PU, with access to the platforms, can be reached via the reception building and the rear area.
