- War Memorial Opera House Roof Replacement Scope of Work: This is a roof replacement project of the historic War Memorial Opera House building located at 301 Van Ness Ave. The intent of this project is to replace the existing, and likely original, lead-coated copper roof to match. This includes replacing the mansard metal roofing around the perimeter of the original building. Some reroofing associated exterior repairs are also included in the project scope. In addition, there is a bid alternate to design and install a fall protection system and roof access ladders. The building will be fully operational and open to the public during construction. The time allowed for completion is 310 consecutive calendar days. The estimated construction cost is approximately $8,000,000. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10:00 am at Zellerbach Rehearsal Hall C. Class "B" license is required to bid. 1.
