- The Walloon Region has granted aid universities to set up a network of excellence technological platforms with advanced equipment. One of these platforms, the PTE "Bio-Materiaux & Green", aims to enhance renewable resources-such asWhether vegetable biomass and atmospheric CO2 - for the production of bio -based synthetic "bricks", new materials, energy, or high -added molecules, for example via the use of new production technologies with reduced global imprint.
The evaluation ofThe productivity of plants (or "phenotyping") requires sophisticated observation and analysis methods, due to the increasingly complex nature of the data to be harvested (e.g. development of underground organs, bioactive contents, photosynthetic efficiency, exchange of gas effectof greenhouse, composition of soils and detergents, ...) and technological evolution (instrumentation). In many circumstances, phenotyping must be carried out "high speed", that is to say quickly and on a large scale, to meet the requirements linked to modern analysis methodsgenetic. Imaging is at the heart of phenotyping.
