- The Van Avenue Beach Approach Park sustained significant damage in the hurricane season of 2022. This project will replace the concrete seawall with UC-95 composite seawall panels protecting the upland park and facilities from storm events. Restoring the Van Avenue Park beach approach will reestablish safe use of the park for visitors to the Volusia County Beach in Daytona Beach Shores. The existing concrete seawall was damaged along the eastern edge and eroded the park, this project will remedy that condition. The concrete return wall at the southern end along the vehicular ramp is to be protected and remain in place with a new cap to connect the new and old walls. A new return wall is be installed on the northern edge of the property. Existing facilities are to be protected and preserved from construction activities.
